Overview
In response to the national RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) safety concerns, Walkem Group was contracted to install emergency and permanent timber support structures. Working to designs by Bailieys Consultants, we reinforced affected concrete elements to ensure the structural integrity and safety of school buildings.

The Challenge
The urgency of these works required rapid mobilisation across multiple sites. Working within operational schools meant minimising disruption while strictly adhering to structural engineering specifications was critical for safety.
Our Solution
We deployed rapid response teams experienced in structural propping and carpentry. Close coordination with structural engineers ensured every installation was verified for safety. Our ability to work flexibly, including out-of-hours, ensured schools could remain safe and operational during these essential remediation works.
